I've always been fascinated by the moon and have an affinity for plants. Just as we go through stages in our life, I drew parallels with the lunar phases and plant growth. And so Moon & Monstera was born.

OVER A DECADE IN CONTENT CREATION ANd MARKETING PROJECT MANAGEMENT
I was born and raised in Southern California - a daughter of Vietnamese refugee immigrants. I built a 17-year dance career with an emphasis in ballet, graduating from the University of California, Irvine and continuing as a dance teacher post grad while working retail and starting a food & fashion blog.
Over the next decade my blog, (formerly) Feast.Fashion.Faves would open many doors in a plethora of industries, expanding my network exponentially. I experienced working in everything from writing fashion, beauty and diy articles, fashion modeling, wardrobe & event styling to photography, social media management, creative directing and doing speaking & hosting engagements.
I learned by doing and connecting with businesses and industry purveyors. I was very fly by the seat of my pants, since I was self-teaching marketing & social media strategies while navigating building my own business. If I didn't know something, I researched it and figured it out on my own. This drive, self sufficiency, and resourcefulness helped me to excel in my own work with content creating and social media management for brands and clients.
A few years ago, I started working in a corporate setting in the data/tech space. This opened up my eyes to and gave me first hand experience on further strengthening my research tactics if I did not know something, creating and solidifying policies and procedures, and building upon my communication skills to effectively execute work in a field I was unfamiliar with. I've had administrative duties to overseeing the end to end organization and implementation of 24+ trade shows/conferences for the U.S., U.K., EU, APAC and Middle East regions in a year.
With Covid-19 having an overwhelming impact on the events industry, I started to pivot my focus over to the project management. Our marketing department had recently lost a marketing manager and a project manager and I felt compelled to transition into a role where I would be forecasting, resource planning and managing all of department's projects.
Currently, I work as a corporate Marketing Manager, run my custom gift business Hammond Haus, take on social media campaigns via my blog Amanda N Hammond as well as continue to work on on creative projects on a case to case basis with Moon & Monstera. I am so inspired by peoples' small business ventures and look forward to helping others pursue their aspirations.
